MARTINA CENTRE TABLE

The Essence of MARTINA

A soft field, marked by one decisive cut

The MARTINA Centre Table is inspired by Martina Navrátilová, whose career reshaped the standards of performance and discipline in tennis. It translates that legacy of strength and tactical intelligence into a low, upholstered form, where a generous surface is defined by a single, precise geometric gesture – a calm, tactile field marked by one clear, intentional move.

design concept and inspiration

A triangle of brass set into the capitonné

The table is a long, low rectangle wrapped entirely in deep capitonné, resting on a recessed wengé base. The tufting covers top and sides in a continuous grid of buttons, the fabric pulled, held and repeated with a tailored, almost athletic regularity. At one corner, that rhythm is deliberately broken: a clean triangular panel of smooth fabric and brushed brass cuts into the capitonné, exposing a different direction. This cut is the key gesture – asymmetry and focus across an even surface, the way a single decisive play can change a match. The dark base grounds the upholstered body and lifts it just enough to feel light.

Made for living rooms and hospitality lounges, MARTINA works as a generous, tactile centre for a seating area. Its low height keeps the posture around it relaxed, and the wide top reads almost as an upholstered platform for books, trays and objects. The triangular brass detail marks a focal zone on the surface, a place to build a composition.
