Around the middle, a slim brass inlay runs as a continuous line on all four sides, dividing the mass into two balanced halves. This line is the key gesture: an “equator” of light that recalls the setting around a jewel, bringing tension and proportion without disturbing the calm of the form. The top stays uninterrupted, a broad plane for books, objects or trays.
