PIETRA CENTRE TABLE

The Essence of PIETRA

Marble treated like the facets of a gemstone

PIETRA takes its name from the Italian for “stone” – solidity, permanence, the raw character of mineral surfaces. The centre table takes that literally: slabs of marble cut like the facets of a gemstone, framed and lifted by a brass structure. It treats stone as a living material, veined and unpredictable, cut into a contemporary geometric composition.

design concept and inspiration

Contrasting marbles, drawn by lines of brass

The top is a multi-faceted field of contrasting marbles: deep green segments frame a central inlay of dark, white-veined stone, each area outlined by slim brass borders. Those metal lines act as precise cuts, organising the natural veining into a clear, graphic pattern – almost a mineral diagram seen in section. The outer contour is not a rectangle but a cut, irregular polygon, like a fragment extracted from a larger block. Below, the brass legs cross in an angular frame that mirrors the geometry above and lifts the heavy stone with apparent ease.

As a focal point for living rooms and hospitality lounges, PIETRA anchors a seating area. Its faceted top catches light through the day, and the mix of marbles lets it sit with a range of palettes, from neutrals to more saturated schemes. Alone, it reads as functional sculpture; against neutral seating, it becomes the room’s note of colour and shine.
