ALISHA is named after the historian Alisha Rankin, whose work recovers the stories of women whose knowledge quietly shaped everyday life. Mamoa reads that into a chair of substance: graceful, composed and considered, with its strength in a quiet presence.
design concept and inspiration
A compact form, the back wrapping into a shell
The chair is a compact upholstered form of balanced proportions. The backrest wraps gently around the sitter into a protective shell, comfort without excess, with no gesture louder than it needs to be. The fully upholstered seat reads as a single continuous volume, lifted by slender ash legs that bring lightness to the composition.
Made for dining rooms and hospitality interiors, ALISHA holds the rituals of gathering and shared time. Its enveloping form invites longer meals, while its restrained profile settles into a range of settings. Around a private table or in a restaurant, it brings balance and lasting comfort – discreet, and present.
