BESS takes its name from a figure associated with strength and stability, translating that into a small, assertive object. It is a piece in pure brass: a single vertical line linking two discs. It doesn’t rely on scale, but on a clear, simple geometry.
design concept and inspiration
Designed as a flexible accent piece
An oval top, a slender column and a matching oval base, all in brushed brass. The column sits off to one side, so the top reaches out over the arm of a chair or the edge of a sofa – close at hand without the base getting in the way. Two ovals and one line: the satin finish softens the reflections into a warm, constant glow, and the whole piece reads almost like a drawing extruded into space.
BESS moves easily between living rooms, lounges and bedrooms. Its small footprint makes it a companion to an armchair or sofa, with just enough surface for a drink or a book. Alone or in pairs, it carries a consistent brass tone that ties a room’s elements together.
