ALPHA takes its name from the first letter of the Greek alphabet – a symbol of beginning, direction and angle. In geometry, alpha marks the opening between two lines, the first movement that defines a plane. The mirror translates that into an object: a first, decisive cut of light that sets the tone for the wall and the room around it.
design concept and inspiration
A faceted volume that detaches from the wall
Instead of a flat surface, ALPHA is a faceted volume that seems to detach from the wall. Its planes fold at sharp angles, meeting in precise lines that recall the drawing of an alpha: one stroke, then another, until a figure emerges. Between the mirrored facets, slim reveals of warm Mutenye wood suggest an inner core, as if the structure were revealed by the act of cutting into it.
Each angled plane catches the room from a different perspective, fragmenting and recomposing reflections as you move; light slides across the facets, so the mirror behaves almost like a prism. Designed as a leading element on a wall – in entrance halls, corridors, living rooms or hospitality spaces – ALPHA works as a starting point around which other pieces can be arranged. Alone or in pairs, it is both mirror and sculpture.
