The main volume is clad entirely in elm root veneer with a half-gloss varnish, its swirling, organic figure making each piece different. Three handleless drawers keep the front as a continuous field of wood, while a low, matte-lacquered ash base lifts the volume slightly and draws a crisp, graphic line beneath the expressive veneer. It is the contrast between the two – rich gloss above, quiet matte below – that recalls 1960s casegoods, in a cleaner language.
