MONTEBELLO Bar Chair is the result of an exclusive collaboration with Spanish designer Raúl Martins, known for blending classical references with a contemporary architectural sensibility. The name evokes a “beautiful hill”, a respect for enduring forms reinterpreted with a modern, graphic edge. A lean outline that holds a surprisingly generous seat.
design concept and inspiration
Defined by geometry and rhythm
The slender lacquered iron frame draws a series of arches at the base, as if two sinuous hills had been pressed together. The backrest is reduced to two intersecting circles that sit gently above the seat, a silhouette that reads like a line drawing in space. This circular motif, set against the arched base, recalls the presence of carved stone forms.
The upholstered seat, in bouclé, brings texture and warmth against the clean black frame, with comfort at bar height. MONTEBELLO keeps a space visually light through its open, linear structure – as a single accent or in a repeating row across a counter.
